Shopping List
Serves: 4-6
Active Kitchen Time: 40-50 minutes
Fresh:
1 small onion
2 cloves garlic
1 lb ground beef
shredded cheddar cheese (for serving)
Pantry:
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 ½ tsp kosher salt, divided
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
1 Tbsp tomato paste
1 cup beef broth
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes
1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
2 cups dried macaroni

Recipe Steps
Cut 1 small onion in half, trim away ends, and peel. Slice layers into strips. Dice into squares. Add to medium bowl. | Smash and peel 2 cloves garlic. Finely mince and add to onion. |
Heat 1 Tbsp olive oil in large pot over medium-high heat. | Add onion, garlic, and ½ tsp kosher salt. |
Cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, 5-7 minutes. | Add 1 lb ground beef and 1 tsp kosher salt. |
Cook until browned, breaking beef into small pieces with a spoon, 7-9 minutes. | Add 1 tsp paprika, 1 tsp dried oregano, 1 tsp dried basil, and 1 Tbsp tomato paste. Stir and cook 1 minute. |
Add 1 cup beef broth, 1 Tbsp Worcestershire, 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes, and 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce. | Turn heat to high and bring to boil. |
Reduce heat to low. Add 2 cups dried macaroni. | Cook, stirring occasionally, until pasta is al dente, 8-12 min. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on each serving. |
